Background

The main equipment of the Astrakhan CHPP-2 includes: 2 turbines with a capacity of 80 MW each, 2 turbines with a capacity of 110 MW each, 4 boiler units, 2 hot water boilers, 3 generator sets, 5 transformers. The main type of fuel is natural gas, the reserve is fuel oil.Currently, Astrakhan CHPP-2 supplies the part of Astrakhan located on the left bank of the Volga with electricity and heat. It has an installed capacity of 380 MW and a thermal capacity of 910 Gcal/h.[8]
