Avista Utilities is a subsidiary of Washington based Avista Corporation, an energy company involved in the production, transmission and distribution of energy as well as other energy-related businesses. Avista Utilities is their operating division, providing electricity to customers across 30,000 square miles and four northwestern states.
Existing coal-fired power plants
In 2020 Avista Utilities owns a 15% share in unit 3 and 4 of the coal-fired Colstrip Steam Plant with a total capacity of 1,647.4 MW. This power station is operated by Talen Energy.[1]
