Background
The station provides electrical and thermal energy to industrial enterprises, residential and public buildings of the Admiralteisky, Moskovsky, Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky districts of St. Petersburg. About 1 million people live in the heat supply zone of the station.[11] According to the Ministry of Energy 2023-2028 energy plan, released in February 2023, Unit 6 (Russian: Т-100/120-130) will be upgraded in 2024 to increase capacity to 120 MW.
