Background
The No. 1 blast furnace system and No. 2 blast furnace system, including 2 blast furnaces and 3 BOF, have been put into operation. The No. 3 blast furnace system, including a 5050m3 blast furnace and a 350 tonne basic oxygen furnace, is still under construction and is expected to be put into operation in 2021.[1][2]
The No. 3 blast furnace system, including a 5050m3 blast furnace and a 350 tonne basic oxygen furnace was put into operation on December 28, 2021。[3]
On December 23, 2021, Baosteel Zhanjiang 1 million-ton hydrogen-based shaft furnace project started. The project will build China's first self-integrated mega-ton shaft furnace, and the world's first shaft furnace that directly adds hydrogen for reduction production.[4][5]
