Background on Plant

Baqiao-2 power station is a four-unit coal-fired power station totaling 850 MW. Units 1-2 were brought online in 2003, and units 3-4 in 2008. The plant is owned by China Datang.[1]

In 2021, the capital of the province announced an ambitious coal plant retirement plan, so at least some of the capacity was expected to retire by 2025.[2][3]
