Background
The Basra Sealines are a series of offshore crude oil exporting pipelines running from southern Iraq oil export hub in Basra to tanker loading facilities in the Persian Gulf. These are part of Iraq’s export infrastructure that connects onshore storage and pumping stations to offshore facilities where oil is loaded onto tankers for international export.[5]
