Background on Mine

The proposed Batura coal mine project is a cluster of mine including Batura Opecast mine of 3 MTPA and Batura Highwall (a hybrid of opencast and underground mining) mine of 0.675 MTPA on a lease area of 967.473 Ha and 420.975 ha, respectively, to be operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, located in Districts Shahdol and Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, India. The projects are part of the Batura coal block Sohagpur coalfields under administrative control of Hasdeo area of SECL.
