Background

Since the project's announcement in March of 2019 there have not been any significant updates.[4] After March 2020 the project has been scrubbed from the Evermore site.[5][6] In addition, the project is not listed in the National Infrastructure Planning database.[7]

In June 2021, Belfast Power Holdings gave up their license to generate electricity, without the project having moved forward at all.[8] It is thus assumed cancelled.
