Background
The power station began as a 30 MW captive coal unit commissioned by Sinar Mas Pulp & Paper in 1997. In 2001, BILT Paper acquired Sinar Mas Pulp & Paper.[2]
As of 2008, Avantha Power & Infrastructure Ltd., formerly known as BILT Power Ltd., owned the captive power plant and was selling electricity and steam to BILT operations.[3]
In 2009, a 30 MW expansion was added to the power station.[3][4]
