The proposed Binkara Underground Coalmine project of 0.54 MTPA on a mining lease area of 374.133 ha in the Lakhanpur coalfields operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, is located in village Gumgara Kala, Tehsil Lakhanpur, District Surguja, State Chhattisgarh, India. The project secured its environment clearance for a cpacity of 0.54 MTPA on 9 February 2011.[2]

However, the project is delayed due to delay in land acquisition & forestry clearance.[3]
