Background

The Jbel Oust Cement Plant opened in 1985, and has grown to a production capacity of nearly 2 million tonnes per year. In 2024, the Brazilian group which owned the plant announced they would divest from their Tunisian business and the plant was sold to the Chinese Sinoma Group.
