Background

Ecuadorian government plans have called for development of a 400 MW combined cycle gas-fired power station in Santa Elena or Guayas province since 2018.[4] In October 2020, the government announced a tender to solicit bids for construction of the project.[2] As of April 2022, the government was still seeking expressions of interest in the project from domestic and international investors.[1][5]
