Background

Bosnian oil refinery (Rafinerija Nafte Brod - RNB) is majority owned by Russia's Neftegazinkor JSC. RNB is 80%-owned by Moscow-registered Neftegazinkor, a subsidiary of Russia's state-owned oil and energy company Zarubezhneft.[4]

A feasibility study for construction of the power plant at the premises of the oil refinery was underway in July 2022. The project was also mentioned by Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Viskovic in an interview in October 2023.[5] As of April 2025, there have not been any further updates about the project.
