Background

Unit 1 began operation in May 2003. [12]

Unit 2 started operating in May 2005. [12]

Unit 5 and Unit 6 entered the construction phase on December 29, 2022. This project is constructed to high standards with a focus on advanced technology, low carbon, and environmental sustainability. It incorporates the use of hydrogen blending, natural gas hydrogen production, natural gas fuel cell power stations, carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), as well as the addition of small-scale photovoltaics, energy storage, and black start technologies. These measures aim to reduce carbon emissions intensity and achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals step by step and in stages. The project will also serve as an important model for innovation in the smart power plant industry.[13]
