Background
In 2023, Qatargas Operating Company Limited awarded McDermott the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract for a 190 km subsea pipeline and 10 km onshore pipeline as part of the NFPS Offshore Compression Project for the North Field Oil and Gas Complex (Qatar). The contract was worth between US$750 million and US$1.5 billion.[1][5]
In March 2024, McDermott subcontracted QFAB for the fabrication, construction, and loadout of the offshore portion of the pipeline.[6]
As of August 2025, commencement of formal construction on the pipelines had not been reported.[3]
