Background
The Canindé Energias power station participated in Brazil's September 2022 national energy auction[4], but did not place a winning bid. By September 2024, two years had passed with no new developments, so the project was moved to shelved-inferred status. Through 2025, no additional updates were reported. In June 2026, the project was not contracted in Brazil's March 2026 LRCAP energy auction,[5] and its status was moved to cancelled-inferred.
