Background
The steam unit of Chabahar power plant in Sistan-Baluchestan Province came online in 2022. The power plant is located 15 km from Chabahar on the road to Iranshahr. It has six gas units, two 157.5-MW units and four 25-MW units (415 MW in total)[5]. The steam unit transformed the station into a combined-cycle one, with additional 160 MW capacity, the total capacity of the station in southeast Iran reached 575 MW.[3]
