Background
In January 2025, Changshi Power announced plans to build and operate a 100 MW coal-fired power station in Gweru. The coal plant would reportedly power ferrochrome operations by Jin Yi Enterprises.[3]
By January 2026, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) had reportedly issued a power generation license for Changshi Power’s proposed power station in Gweru.[4][5]
