Charqueadas power station is a retired coal-fired plant in Charqueadas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Background
The plant consisted of four 18-MW units, three of which were commissioned in 1962 and one of which was commissioned in 1969 in Charqueadas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.[1] The 72 MW plant was operated by Engie Brasil Energia, formerly Tractebel Energia SA.[2][3] The plant was retired in 2016 as part of Engie's plan to decarbonize its energy portfolio.[4]
