Data Sources and Methodology

Capacity values are derived from the following source:

NEA

This data source covers capacities in the 0–6 MW range. Data values are reported as of 2025 Q4.

Global Solar Power Tracker

This data source covers capacities in the 1–6 MW range (partially). Data values are reported as of 2025 Q4.

Tianjin's figure is estimated from the NEA-reported distributed PV total. NEA defines distributed PV as PV developed on the user side, connected to the distribution network, and balanced within the distribution system rather than a strict <1 MW size cutoff.

For this release, we use NEA reported distributed solar total minus GEM's 1–6 MW solar capacity recorded in GEM Global Solar Power Tracker. For Tianjin, this is calculated as 5,538 MW minus 263.2 MW, resulting in an estimated 5,274.8 MW of 0–1 MW capacity.

Because GEM’s 1–6 MW coverage is partial, the subtraction method may overestimate the 0–1 MW capacity.

AC/DC Correction

The data sources are reported as AC.
