Background
The China Coal Fuiling power station is located in the Fuling District of Chongqing and is being invested in by China Coal Energy Group's Southwest branch. The feasibility study was announced on April 27, 2025 [2]. A social stability analysis report was procured on May 12, 2025[3], followed by public participation announcements regarding environmental impact assessments on June 18, 2025 [4].
Further developments include preliminary design and consultation bids on July 17, 2025[5], and procurement for major equipment such as turbines and generators on July 28, 2025 [6].
As of April 2026, the project remained in the preliminary design stage with engineering design contracts completed. Construction is planned to start in Q3 2026, with both units expected to enter commercial operation in Q4 2027[7].
