Background

The plant commenced operations under the name Górażdże Cement. In the late 1970s, the plant sourced technology from Western Europe, a pioneering move at the time, to ensure the most efficient operations. In the mid-1990s, the Górażdże Cement Plant became part of the HeidelbergCement Group. In late 2021, the plant initiated an on-site heat treatment project for its rotary kiln components. This project involved the mobilization of a specialized team to perform continuous preheating, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of the kiln. To improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), the plant implemented COPA-DATA's zenon software in its packaging area. This initiative led to a 20% reduction in costs and optimized the palletizing and stretch hood processes.
