Background

In August 2021, Cleanspark announced its plans to establish a 20 MW mining facility in Norcross, Georgia. The first 8 MW of capacity went into operation in February 2022 with the remaining 12 MW expected to go live later in 2022. [1] The facility is powered by a 100% renewable-sourced energy mix. [2]

The facility also features the use of immersion cooling infrastructure. Immersion cooling infrastructure involves submerging mining equipment in an insulating, dielectric fluid solution, which circulates over the mining equipment as it runs, thereby cooling it. These solutions are reportedly more efficient with less noise production compared to air cooling systems.[3]
