Background
In June 2025, Coastal Bend LNG, a privately held company, announced that it had begun to develop an LNG export terminal on the Gulf Coast in Texas. The facility will have up to five 4.5-mtpa trains for a total export capacity of 22.5 mtpa.[2]
In August, the firm said that it was undertaking a front-end engineering and design (FEED) with Solvanic to study the possibility of conducting carbon capture and storage (CCS) at its planned facility.[3]
In January 2026, Coastal Bend LNG announced that it had selected KBR and Técnicas Reunidas to conduct a FEED study for the project, and that these firms would be the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors in the event of a positive final investment decision.[4]
