Background
PPC Zimbabwe began as Premier Portland Cement Company in 1913, the first cement company in the country[3]. In 1918 PPC Limited acquired interest in Premier Portland Cement Company[3]. Premier Portland merged with Rhodesia Cement during the fall of the Federation in 1963[4]. Following the merge was the establishment of United Portland Cement (Unicem) which managed two plants in Colleen Bawn and Bulweyo. PPC purchased Unicem in 2001[4].
