Background

First commissioned as an oil-fueled generator, the equipment was replacted with gas-fired equipment in 1924.[6] Whitetower Energy sold the Croydon plant, along with four other gas plants, to Rockland Capital in 2019.[7]

In 2021 the project applied for 50 MW existing generation in the T-4 Capacity Market 2024-2025 auction.[8] This would qualify them for government subsidies to guarantee electricity supply.[9]
