Background

The project would consist of six coal-fired units of 660 MW each. Project sponsor Excel Powmin of Abhijeet Group submitted an environmental assessment toward an environmental clearance permit in 2011.[1]

As of 2016 the project has not received environmental clearance, and appears to have been abandoned.
