A EPC contract between the Huanqiu Company and Zhejiang Junan Energy to build the terminal was signed in June 2018.[2]

Taizhou Yuhuan city Government and Shenergy Group signed a cooperation agreement on the Zhejiang Yuhuan Damaiyu LNG terminal project on September 30, 2020. The construction date was set at the end of 2020, and is expected to operation in 2022. [3][4]

The total investment will be 5.4 billion yuan ($827 million), including the LNG terminal and the supporting pipelines. The receiving capacity is 2 mtpa for the first phase. [3]
