Background

In August 2011, executive chairman of Australia-based Intra Energy Corporation (IEC) Graeme Robertson said that the company was considering a 400 MW coal plant in Dar es Salaam and a 400 MW power plant in Mbeya, sometime in 2013-2018.[1]

The project is not mentioned on IEC's "Tanzania Projects" page or Tancoal's page.[2][3][4] It appears shelved or cancelled.
