Datang Khorgos Cogen power station (大唐霍尔果斯热电项目) is a proposed 700-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.
With no developments since 2015, the project appears to be abandoned.
The map below shows the location of Gemohur, Khorgas, Ili, the approximate location where the plant would be built.
Background on Project
China Datang has proposed a 2 x 350 MW supercritical coal plant in Gemohur, Khorgas, Ili.
Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity
In January 2017 China's National Energy Administration suspended over 100 planned and under-construction coal power projects with a total capacity of over 100GW in 13 provinces, including Datang Khorgos. It is unclear when or if the projects will be revived.
