Background
In 2025, the World Bank facilitated a series of tenders on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Water for an FSRU off the coast of Deir Ammar, North Lebanon. The FSRU was proposed as part of a project including the rehabilitation of the Deir Ammar power plant to operate on natural gas, and the development of the Deir Ammar 2 power plant.
