Coal Mine Background

The Sihe Coal Mine is operated by Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd. It is located at the southeast edge of Qinshui Coalfield, bounded by the Qinhe and Houyue Railways. The east well is on the east side and the west well is on the west. The mine adopts a joint development method. The downhole production systems of each well area are independent of each other. The current production capacity of Sihe Mine is 9.00Mt/a, of which 4.00Mt/a in the West Well and 5.00Mt/a in the East Well.[1] The construction of Sihe Coal Mine started in December 1996 and was officially put into production in January 2002.[2] On February 1, 2002, a gas explosion occurred at Sihe Mine, which killed 23 people.[3]
