East West Gas Pipeline is an operational natural gas pipeline.[1] It is also known as the Kakinada-Hyderabad-Uran-Ahmedabad Gas Pipeline.

Location

The pipeline runs from Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) to Bharuch (Gujarat) including various spurs and interconnects along the way. The pipeline passes through the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The exact route of the pipeline is available at Shuck India.

Background

The East West Gas Pipeline in India features multiple compressor stations, numerous metering facilities at ranch take-offs and an advanced control and communications network. The pipeline is the first and largest privately owned cross-country pipeline in India.[1]

In March 2019 Canadian asset management company Brookfield purchased the pipeline from RIL for ₹13,000 crore. Brookfield will operate the pipeline through its India Infrastructure Trust (InvIT).[5]
