Background

Eldev coal mine is located 330 kilometers southeast of Ulaanbaatar city, 40 km southeast of Choir railway station, and 21 km east of Olon Ovoot station (Trans Mongolian railway).[2][3] It is a 500,000 tonnes per annum coal mine, owned and operated by the Mongolyn Alt Corporation (MAK Corporation).
