Background
The pipeline was built in 1985 to transport gas from from the Esmond, Forbes and Gordon fields. The pipeline temporarily ceased operating when fields were decommissioned in 1995 . In 1996 the pipeline began transporting gas from nearby Perenco operated gas fields. The operation of the pipeline was reconfigured again when these fields ceased operating and it now transports gas from the neptune energy operated Cygnus field. Kellas expect the pipeline to continue operating beyond 2040.[1]
