Background
Russia-based Rusal had proposed a 95 MW (285 MWth) coal-fired power plant to provide energy and steam to its Eurallumina alumina refinery in Portovesme, Carbonia-Iglesias. However, in April 2018 the project was cancelled, and power will be sourced from Enel's existing Sulcis (Grazia Deledda) Coal Power Plant.[1]
