Background
As of June 2025, Ezra Energy Limited was planning to build an “integrated thermal and solar power plant” with 360 MW of coal capacity and 40 MW of solar capacity in the Sinazeze area of the Sinazongwe District, in the Southern Province. According to an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for a water pipeline associated with the proposed power station, the integrated coal and solar plant was expected to cost US$10 million.[2]
