The Fahud-Sohar Gas Pipeline is an operating natural gas pipeline in Oman.
Location
The Main Line and Parallel Line run from the Fahud Compressor Station to the Sohar Power Station in Oman.[1][2]
The Loop Line travels from the Fahud Compressor Station, following the path of the Main Line until BVS-06.[3]

Background
Main Line
In 2002, it was announced that a 32 inch, roughly 300 km pipeline was under construction from Fahud to the Sohar industrial area.[5]
In 2004, the pipeline was inaugurated. It was shared the the pipeline had a capacity of 91.5 million cubic meters per day.[1]
Parallel Line
In 2016, a contract was awarded to Punj Lloyd that included the construction of a 32 inch, 301 km gas pipeline to meet the increased demand of development in the Sohar area, including the Liwa Plastic Industries Complex (LPIC). The pipeline would run parallel to the original Fahud-Sohar pipeline and would supply gas to the Sohar power station.[9]
OQGN reported that the loop line was completed in 2020 for US$250 million.[2]
In May 2020, construction on the LPIC was nearly complete and the complex had begun testing. It began operations in December 2021.[10][11]
Loop Line
In 2022, technical bids for the Fahud-Sohar Loop Line project were being accepted. The scope of work was shared to be a 42 in pipeline from Fahud compressor station to Block Valve Station (BVS-06) with a total length of 193 km and Block Valve Station (BVS-04) with the length of 128 km. It was planned to run parallel to the existing 32 inch Fahud-Sohar Pipeline with the goal of supplying gas to the North Power station. It was planned for completion in Q4 in 2025.[7]
The commercial bid date was postponed to October 2024, with the plan shared to be just the 42 in, 193 km loop line form Fahud compressor station to Block Valve Station (BVS-06), with an alternative scope of extending only 128 km to Block Valve Station 4 (BVS-04) for cost optimization.[12]
In November 2024, OQ Gas Network received regulatory approval for the 193 km loop line, with completion scheduled for 2027.[6]
In June 2025, OQ Gas Networks awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to Egypt-headquartered Petrojet for US$273 million. Completion was expected in 24 months. It was also announced that the supply of the 193 km pipelines was awarded to Jindal SAW.[8]
In August 2025, full approval was given from Integrated Gas Company for the project. The announcement also indicated that an additional 2 km lateral would be constructed to serve the Ibri Industrial Area. It noted that the loop would bring an additional 13 million cubic meters of gas per day to the Sohar Industrial Port.[13]
