Background

The Fayetteville Express Pipeline (FEP) is an approximately 185-mile interstate natural gas pipeline that originates near Conway County, Arkansas, continues eastward through White County, Arkansas and terminates at an interconnect with Trunkline Gas Company Pipeline in Panola County, Mississippi. The pipeline carries gas from the Fayetteville Shale Gas Field.[1] FEP delivers natural gas supplies from the Fayetteville Shale in Arkansas to communities along the route. Additionally, it provides an alternate route for natural gas when hurricanes and tropical storms disrupt offshore and coastal supplies. FEP is a joint venture between Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. and Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. [6]

On June 15, 2009, Fayetteville Express Pipeline LLC filed an application with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requesting authorization to construct and operate the pipeline.[7] Construction of the pipeline began in April 2010.[5] The pipeline began interim operations in October 2010 and began full operations on January 01, 2011.[8]
