Górażdże Cement Górażdże Cement Plant, also known as Cementownia Górażdże, is an integrated cement plant operating in Górażdże, Opolskie, Poland.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the cement plant in Górażdże, Opolskie, Poland[1]:
Coordinates (WGS 84): 50.534237, 17.977674 (exact)[2]
Background
The Górażdże cement plant commenced operations in the late 1970s, with technology sourced from Western Europe to ensure efficient operations, a pioneering move in the Eastern bloc. In the mid-1990s, the Górażdże cement plant became part of international cement giant Heidelberg Materials.[3][4]
In late 2021, the plant initiated an on-site heat treatment project for its rotary kiln components. This project involved the mobilization of a specialized team to perform continuous preheating, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of the kiln. To improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), the plant implemented COPA-DATA's zenon software in its packaging area. This initiative led to a 20% reduction in costs and optimized the palletizing and stretch hood processes.[5]
The plant has a production capacity of 4 million tonnes of cement annually, making it the largest cement plant in Poland.[6]
