Background

Galati power station is a combined heat-and-power station in Galati, Romania that was commissioned in three phases, over a number of years between 1969 and 1988. The first stage, which is now decommissioned, consisted of a steam turbine of 100 MW and 60 MW. Stage 2 and 3, which are still operational, account for a total of 375 MW of electrical power.[6]
