Background on Mine

The Godavarikhani 11A Incline Coal Mine has a designed capacity 1.75 MTPA mine, operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, on an area of 197 Ha in village Jallaram, Mandal Kamanpur, District Peddapally, State Telangana, India.[4] The project was granted Environment Clearance on 10 August 1990.[5]

EC exist for GDK -11A incline in the project area of 197 ha up to a depth of 150 m vide Lr. No. J-11015/ 38/ 89/ IA -II, dated. 10-08-1990. However to work beyond 150 m depth, EC was obtained under the name of Ramagundam Shaft Block-I,vide.Lr.No.J-11015/45/89-IA-II(M), dtd.25-11-1992 up to a maximum depth of 470m. Later, during the year 2006, the Mining Plan was revised for Shaft Block-I with the change in reserves, technology & production and named as “Revised Mining Plan for part of Deep mining area of Ramagundam (GDK-11A & Peddampet UG shaft Project)” and obtained approval in 2006, MoC, GoI. Peddampet coal mine and GDK 11 A Incline share some of the mining infrastruture because they are vertically below one another workings up to a maximum depth of 443m and planned to share by the same entries in project area of 725 ha.
