Background

The two coal-fired units of Gongyi-2 power station total 100 MW. They were retired in 2008. The plant is owned by Banpu.[1]

Description of Expansion

Banpu was planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 200 MW.[2]

However, the new units appear to have been cancelled due to financial and worker difficulties.[1]
