Gorky-Center Gas Pipeline (Russian: Газопровод Горький - Центр) is an operating gas pipeline in Russia.[1]

Location

The pipeline starts in Kstovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, and runs to Zhukovsky District, Kaluga Oblast, Russia.[1]

Project Details

Background

The pipeline is part of the gas transmission system "Nizhnyaya Tura-Perm-Gorky-Center", which is used to deliver gas from the Medvezhye Gas Field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to Central Russia.[6]

Environment and social impacts

On October 24, 2018 the pipeline leaked in the Melenkovsky District of the Vladimir region. The flame went up to 20 meters. 4 hectares of forest suffered from the fire.[2]
