The Greenside coal mine is an underground mine owned and operated by Thungela Resources Limited, a subsidiary of Anglo American, near Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, South Africa.[3][4]

The Greenside coal mine is located approximately 120 km east of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was previously owned by Anglo American, however, in June 2021, Anglo American completed the demerger of its South African thermal coal assets, including the Greenside Mine, into a newly incorporated company, Thungela Resources Limited (Thungela).[4][5]
