Background

After a period during which plans were stalled, the Algerian Minister of Industry announced in June 2025 that the state, through GICA (Groupe Industriel des Ciments d'Algérie) would work to complete the previously announced Djelfa Cement Plant, with a capacity of 3 million tonnes annually of cement.
