Background

In May 2018 a contract to build the terminal was signed between China Huadian, Guangzhou Port, Guangzhou Nansha Zhenrong Storeage, and Tongton Supply Chain Group.[1]

The construction of the LNG terminal began in September 30, 2019. It will build 2 160,000-cubic-meter storage tanks. The total receiving storage capacity is 1 mtpa.[2] The investment was estimated 4.38 billion yuan ($666.7 million).[3]
