Background on Project

National Energy Investment Group is currently building a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 700 MW in Hebei Province.[1][2] It is the closest coal-fired power plant near Beijing. The power plant supplies heat in winter to the city of Langfang. It uses supercritical technology.[3]

Unit 1 was commissioned in Nov 2016 and unit 2 in December 2016.[4][5]

Expansion

In May 2021, China Guodian signed a framework agreement to install two new 350 MW supercritical units at the power station.[6]

The units were permitted on September 9, 2022.[7]
