Ownership Tree
This ownership tree is part of the Global Energy Ownership Tracker, a project of Global Energy Monitor.
Background on Project
Guoxin Jingjiang power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,320 MW in Jiangsu Province. Units 1 and 2 began operating in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The plant is owned by Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group (55%), Shanxi Coal Import & Export Group (35%), and Jiangsu Huajing Asset Management (10%).[6][7]
As of January 2023, an additional two 1,000 MW coal units were proposed.[8] The project's environmental impact assessment was also prepared.[9]
In May 2023, China Energy Construction Jiangsu Institute won the bid for survey and design of Units 3 and 4.[10]
In June 2023, the power station was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission.[11] The power station would soon enter construction preparation.[12]
The project launching ceremony was held on 8 August 2023.[13][14]
The Unit 3 and 4 expansion project progressed significantly from 2024 to 2025. In February 2024, the #3 boiler steel structure was erected[15]. In November 2024, the cooling tower ring beam was poured[16].
Unit 3 successfully passed the 168-hour trial run in December 2025[17].
Unit 4 achieved first grid connection in December 2025[18] and was commissioned by December 30, 2025[19].
