Background on Project

Inner Mongolia Energy Generation & Investment Group is seeking approval for a 2 x 350 MW supercritical power station at Jinshan, Guyang County.[1] It is described as a captive power plant for the East Hope Group.[2]

The plant was permitted in November 2015.[3] It is planned for operation in 2017. The plant is for residential heating and is a considered a poverty reduction project.[4]

Planet satellite imagery suggests construction began in June 2017 and then proceeded rapidly. The plant is planned for operation in 2019.[2]

Units 1 and 2 were commissioned in September 2019.[5][6]
